He was born in Fitchburg, Mass., January 11, 1933, son of the late Leo E. and Cecile (Caron) Gauthier.
He grew up in Fitchburg, Mass., and attended local schools. For the past 10 years, he lived in Brentwood. Prior to this, he resided in Hooksett for eight years and was a resident of Bedford for 15 years.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Achernar. He then graduated as valedictorian with the class of 1957 from Bentley College. He was an entrepreneur, corporate executive, certified public accountant and tax consultant. Although retired, his last position was as a tax auditor at the Internal Revenue Service.
Leo was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Manchester Country Club. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 32 in Exeter and Post 51 in Epping. He loved playing cards and pool, skiing and spending time with family and friends. His infectious personality, smile and laugh undoubtedly made him the life of any party.
Mr. Gauthier was predeceased by his daughter, Catherine Zagwyn, and his sister, Yvette Feltri.
Burial will take place at a later date in the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
