Mrs. LaVone Cole, 85, of Stigler died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at a Tulsa hospital. She was born on August 23, 1928 in Snyder, Texas to Lacy Mathue Allen and Selma (Winstead) Allen. She grew up in Snyder, Texas where she received her education. After graduation she then began waitressing and continued until her retirement. She married Sherman Cole on May 11, 1981 and they were happily married for twenty-four years until his passing in 2004. She will always be remembered as adoring her dogs and loving to play golf. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Cole; her parents, Lacy and Selma Allen; one sister, Geneva Baker. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with Reverend John Pruett officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Iron Bridge Cemetery under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
