Perry Lutheran in Dane County, Wisconsin was the place for the christening of Bergit Matilde. Born March 10,1869 in Moscow Township in Iowa County Wisconsin to Lars and Sarah, she was their fifth child. At her christening on April 8, 1869, once again grandmother Gro was witness. She was seven years old when the family moved to Iowa and in 1884 she was confirmed in Platt's Schoolhouse, which was used for a time by the Fertile Lutheran Congregation for services.
Married James Frank Tibbs.

Went by her middle name Matilda and used her first name Bergit as her middle name.

Matilde, wife of Frank Tibbs, died at her home in Emery on Sunday March 5. Mrs, Tibbs was ill but a short time and had she lived until Friday she would have been 30 years old. Mrs. Tibbs will be greatly missed in her home and in Emery. She was the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Sanderson of Grant Township. The Woodmen and Royal Neighbors took charge of the funeral and the remains laid to rest in Mason City. Her parents will take care of the two oldest boys and a sister, Mrs. Ward of Fertile, the baby
