Kief - The funeral will be Saturday at 1;30 in the Mennonite Brethern Church, Kief, for Mrs. Matilda Dassenko, 77, Kief, who died Tuesday in a Minot nursing home.
Rev. Thomas Benoy will officiate and burial will be in the Kief Cemetery.
Mrs. Dassenko was born May 6, 1894 in Russia to Mr. and Mrs. John Seleshanko. She came with her parents to North Dakota in the early 1900s. She married John Dassenko, Nov. 11, 1911, at Washburn. Following their marriage they farmed on his homestead eight miles south of Kief until 1932 when they retired and moved into Kief. In 1971 she moved to a Minot nursing home. Mr. Dassenko died in 1965.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Ella) Kanko, Kief, and Mrs. Sam (Francis) Plesuk, Minot; four sons, Mike of Kief, Levi of Tacoma, Wash., Melvin of Waukee, Iowa, and Sam of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; two sisters; and five brothers.
