Daughter of Vincent Germon, whose ancestors came from Martinique, and his wife Eliza. Married first, the artist Constantino Brumidi (1805-1880), known as the "Michelangelo of the Capitol". She was 18 and he was 55 when they married. They had one son, Lawrence Stauros (May 12, 1861-November 11, 1920). Lola and Constantino separated in the 1870s, but she remained interested and involved in his welfare until his death.

Married third, Edwin C. Kirkwood.

Lola is buried beside her first husband in the Germon family plot.
