Alvin D. Brown, Jr.
Fairhaven — Alvin D. Brown Jr., 68, of Fairhaven, died Tuesday, January 28, 1992, after a long illness. He was the husband of Rosalie A. (Potkay) Brown and son of the late Alvin D. and Viola Brown.

He died at the Sippican Health Care Center in Marion.

Born in New Bedford, he lived 45 years in Fairhaven and was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He was employed by Berkshire Hathaway Corporation as a supervisor until retiring and had also worked as a house painter.

Mr. Brown was a World War II Air Force [Corps] veteran and an avid reader.

Survivors include his widow; four sons Russell D. and Michael T., both of New Bedford, Stephen P. of Fairhaven and David R. of Cape Coral, Fla.; two daughters Sandra C. Spangler and Kathleen R. Moreau, both of Fairhaven; a brother Earl of New Hampshire, seven sisters, Edale Raphael, Barbara Britto, Ada Fontes, Grace Bizarro, Virginia Gonsalves, and Beatrice Cunha, all of New Bedford; and Dorothy Arruda of Dartmouth; 10 grandchildren; a great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford.
