Strasburg, N.D. -- Veronica Volk, 99, of Strasburg died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at the Strasburg Care Center.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg. The Rev. Leonard Eckroth will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with Myers Funeral Home in Linton, N.D., in charge of arrangements.
A prayer service will be at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home in Linton.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home in Linton and for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church in Strasburg.
Veronica Volk was born March 18, 1901, to Steve and Elizabeth (Glass) Volk in Winona, N.D. She attended rural school. She lived with her parents until age 23.
She went to work for the Rev. Otto Weber at St. Anthony's Parish in Linton from 1924 to 1930. They transferred to Hebron, N.D. They were there for 11 years. They then transferred to Fifield, Wis., where they stayed for 30 years. When he died in 1971, she returned to Strasburg.
She entered the Strasburg Care Center on May 28, 1993.
She was a member of St. Mary' Society and the Strasburg Senior Citizens.
Survivors include three sisters, Regina Orley and Anne Anderson, both of Milwaukee, and Peggy Sheffield of Vancouver, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
