JOHN MILLER DIES AT SISTER'S HOME
Former Rockford Merchant Expires In Harrison
WELL KNOWN IN COUNTY
Deceased Was Stockbuyer for Years - Had Been at Home of Sister in Harrison Since Last June - Brother of Mrs. Reckhow.
ROCKTON, Ill. - Nov. 8. - John Miller, who was for years a resident of Rockford and who was associated with R. P. Hamlyn in the meat firm of Miller & Hamlyn, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Brittan Jewett in Harrison tonight.
Deceased had been ill for a long time of dropsy and other complications and last June came to his sister's home. Since then he failed to gain and continued to decline until the end tonight at 8:40 o'clock.
Mr. Miller was about seventy years of age and had resided in Winnebago county for years. Several years ago he left Rockford and went to Chicago to reside with his daughter Mrs. Roscoe Carter, continuing his residence there until last June.
Another daughter resides in Decatur and a son, John, in Portland. Four sisters and two brothers survive. They are Mrs. Jewett of Harrison, Mrs. Margaret Reckhow of Rockford, Mrs. Henry [William] Harley of Rockton, Mrs. Henry [John] Robinson of Beloit, Edward [Edmund]Miller of near Rockford and Alex Miller of Shirland.
Arrangement for the funeral were not completed tonight.
