Vera Adams Davis, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at home. She was born February 25, 1920 to Stephen and Sarah Adams in Cedar View, Utah near Roosevelt. She married Joseph Burdell (Bud) Davis November 2, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived most of their married life in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was raised in Montwell, Utah.
Vera remembered when they got electricity, a car and indoor plumbing. She went to B.Y.U., lettered in badminton and never lost a match. She worked in Salt Lake during the war making bullets. She loved to garden, sew and make quilts. She liked to play games, ski, ice skate, sleigh ride in the winter and play softball in the summer. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed family get-togethers and parties.
She is survived by five children: Shirlene (Tom) Crowther, Richfield; Ranee Rhodes, Kearns; Boyd Davis, Lehi; Janet (Karl) Mabey, Grand Junction, Colorado; Kevin (Janet) Davis Orem and adopted daughter Yvonne Davis of Califorina; 20 grandchildren, 40 great- grandchildren and a great great grandson. Additional survivors include her sister Fern Cable, West Jordan; sisters-in-law Nadean (Lynn) Bellows, Orem and Delora Pugh, Pleasant Grove; brothers-in-law: Neil (Jeanne) Davis, Sacramento, California and Eldon (Colleen) Davis Pleasant Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Burdell (Bud) Davis, her two brothers, Earl and Harvey and three sisters, Hazel, Elzina, and Verda; daughter-in-law LuDean Davis, son-in-law, Edwin Rhodes and two grandsons Kim Davis and Tony Mabey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 6, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Cherry Hill Third Ward Chapel, 1650 South 200 East, Orem.
Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery
