John was born in Spokane on June 5, 1950. He passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2012 in Spokane, WA. He was a proud alumnus of Grant Elementary School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Military, and received an honorable discharge from the United States Coast Guard. He then obtained his Master of Arts degree from Eastern Washington University. He was previously employed as a school psychologist in the public schools. John was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and DeLores Alice and his brother-in-law, Kevin O'Connell. He is survived by his brother, Mike Alice, his sister, Suzanne O'Connell, and nieces Erin and Kaitlyn O'Connell. John was an avid gardener, outdoor enthusiast, excellent cook and loved to spend time at the lake cabin. Visitation will be Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 1:00-5:00PM at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home 2203 N. Division. The family has scheduled a private graveside service.
