Ruby was raised by her grandparents, James and Lacy Fulps after the death of her mother. She married Levi Linden Carter in Vallejo, Ca. on March 7th, 1938. They had one son Gary Joe, they also raised two foster sons, which they claimed as their own, Marshall and Wayne McDonald. Ruby was the best cook, and she made fantastic cobblers.
