DIED AT 93 YEARS
Mrs. Emily Burris, aged 93 years, died last Tuesday at the home of her son, Jacob Burris, near Marceline, of the infirmities of old age. She had lived here for about six years and was born in Campbell County, Tennessee. Surviving are the son, eight grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the chapel in Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Wednesday morning, conducted by Elder David Lyon.

DEATH OF A VENERABLE WOMAN
Mrs. Emily Burris died at the home of her son, Jacob Burris, 2 1/2 miles west of Marceline at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Burris was one of the oldest residents of this locality, having attained the venerable age of 93 years, 1 month and 18 days. She was a native of Tennessee. Funeral services were held at the chapel in Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Wednesday morning conducted by Elder David Lyon, pastor of the Christian Church.
NOTE: Death Certificate states her name as Emily Jarman. It is believed she was never married but took on the Burriss surname as she was raised in the household of her step-father, Old Elijah Burriss in Campbell Co. TN. Both her children have the Burriss surname.
