Born Apr. 19, 1921 in Forro, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late John Balogh and Anna Podrasky Balogh. She was preceded in death on Dec. 7, 1999 by her husband, Cletus John Walker whom she married on Nov. 25, 1943.
Mag was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the church Sacristans. She worked part time at Galion Community Hospital, loved playing cards and belonged to many card clubs. Mag also enjoyed gardening, nurturing her flowers and golfing. She was an enthusiastic shopper, bargain hunter and coupon clipper.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Ellen Walker of Bryan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Constance “Cookie” and Peter Jiran of Granville, Carla and Steve Ringer of Akron; seven grandchildren, Gabriel Jennifer Jiran, Nichole Jiran, Marc Cathleen Ringer, Amy Sean Fickers Ringer, R.J. Walker, Scott Pam Hartman and Greg Traci Hartman; 10 great-grandchildren and one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Robert Ummel of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Kirt Walker; one sister, Anna Stark and one brother, Paul Balogh.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday led by Al Sisson, Deacon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion with Father Robert Haas, Celebrant and Greg Kirk, Deacon officiating. Burial will follow next to her husband in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion.
