PERSHING, Ind.--Frank B. Dickenson, 75, pf Pershing, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
He was born in Big Stone Gap, Va., on Aug. 19, 1923, to George and Corney Belle Bledsoe Dickenson and had lived in the Pershing area for the past 30 years. Before that, he had lived in Centerville.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He retired from Golay & Co. in Cambridge City.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Virginia Chandler Dickenson; three daughters, Patsy Hall of Dublin and Anna Ammerman and Loretta Harrison, both of Centerville; two sons, William Boyd Dickenson of Big Stone Gap Va. and Bruce Dickenson of New Castle; three brothers, Herman Dickenson of Big Stone Gap, Va., Ted Moore of Norton, Va., and Hoover Dickenson of Tennessee; a sister, Bonnie of Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ewing and Clyde; and two sisters, Blanche and Ruth.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Marshall and Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, with the Rev. David Todd officiating. Burial will follow at Abington Cemetery in Abington. Friends may call from 1 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
