STRATHROY AGE DISPATCH - THURSDAY, MAY 30, 1974:
Gordon Wardell, 70, of R.R. 5 Strathroy died at St. Joseph's Hospital, London on Wednesday May 22 following a lengthy illness. Reverend John Barrett officiated at the funeral service on Saturday at Denning Brother's Funeral Home.
He was born in Adelaide Township where he farmed for most of his life. He is survived by his wife Jean (Lewis), three sons Bruce, Keith and Kenneth all of Windsor; ten grandchildren; four sisters Mrs. Ira (Edith) Graham of Tyner, Sask., Mrs. Harold (Stella) Bolton of Strathroy, Mrs. Lindsay (Elma) Calder of Thamesford and one brother Stanley Wardell of Strathroy.
Pallbearers were Dougall Graham, William Graham, Tom Elliott, Arthur Pedden, Allan Pedden and Archie Myers. Interment was in Strathroy Cemetery.
