Freda Mae (Watson) Brown, age 91, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, November 17, 2013, at the Four Winds Nursing Facility, Jackson. She was born March 14, 1922 in Maysville, Kentucky to the late Robert Watson Sr. and Ella (Wilson) Watson.

The second of eight children, Freda leaned to work at an early age, helping her mother care for the younger children. During WWII she was hired by the railroad as a switchboard operator. It was while working for the railroad that she met and later married James E. Brown. They set up housekeeping on the Brown homestead and Freda was introduced to the rigors of farm life. After their children were pretty well grown, Freda went to work outside the home. She got a job with Buckeye Mart (later Fisher's Big Wheel) and worked there until she retired in the 1980s. Freda loved the Lord and raised her children to do the same. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coalton.

She was also preceded in death by
her husband Jim;
brothers, Willard, Harold, Chester "Joe" and Raymond Watson;
sisters, Wilma Burton and Anna Turner.

She is survived by
children, David (Denise) of Lonsdale, Arkansas, Mary of Wellston, Paul (Denise) of Jackson and Jim (Laura) of Wellston;
one brother, Robert Watson Jr. of Flatwoods, Kentucky;
nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews;
"adopted sons", Ed and Dean Armstrong;
many friends.

Funeral service at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Rawlins officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.
