Mark D. Polston, 88, of Lilburn, Georgia, died August 4, 2008 at the V.A. Medical Center in Decatur, GA. He was born August 5, 1919, in Rome, GA, a son of the late John William and Lillie Shiflett Polston. He was U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII, the Berlin Airlift, and the Korean War. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service to his country. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Roberts Polston, one daughter, Ellen Polston of Lawrenceville, GA, one son, Michael Polston of Gaithersburg, MD., and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2008, at 11 A. M. at the St. Marys I.O.O.F. Cemetery, St. Marys, WV with military graveside rites. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 P. M. Friday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV.
