The son of BUTLER EMERY MARBLE and MARY JENETTE LAWS, JEHIEL married ANNA LOVERIDGE DRAKE, daughter of SAMUEL DRAKE and CATHARINE SHARP, on November 04, 1851, Carroll County, Illinois. JEHIEL is grandson to JOSEPH MARBLE and SUSANNAH ELIZABETH BUTLER of Fayston, Washington County, Vermont. JOSEPH MARBLE fought in the American Revolution.
JEHIEL BUTLER MARBLE was a stone mason and had worked on some of the buildings in downtown, Mount Vernon, Ohio.
In 1868, three years after the conclusion of the Civil War and two years after his father's death, JEHIEL BUTLER MARBLE died young of stone lung disease at the age of 48.
His body was shipped by train from Irondale, Missouri to Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
