Mrs. Orval F. Banks (Nellie), 93, 407 North Star, died Monday, Jan. 6, at Mid-America Nursing center. Services will be held Thursday (today) at 10:30 a.m.
at the Dietz-Carlson Colonial chapel.
Rev. W. Frank Aten, pastor of the First Christian church, will officiate. Casket bearers will be Ed Snodgrass, Lee Carpenter, Virgil Hughey, Paul Weber, Eldon Yarnall and Vernon Peterson. Interment will follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Mrs. Banks was born November 18, 1881 at Winchester, Mo., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson Stout (Ann Rachel Hardin). She married Orval F. Banks December 28, 1904, at Winchester, Mo. He died October 6, 1971. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include one son, George Ganks, 1619 Arizona, two grandchildren, Kenneth Banks and Carolyn Hinderliter, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, twin daughters, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.(Butler County News, January 9, 1975)
