Gary Arland Hendrickson, 19, 502 N. Poplar, was killed in action in Vietnam on March 1.
He was born Aug. 4, 1947 in Ottawa, the son of Velmore A. and Lorraine (Burns) Hendrickson.
A 1965 Ottawa High School graduate, Hendrickson had enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps June 9, 1966. After being home on leave for 30 days in October, he left for Vietnam Nov. 28, 1966.
Survivors include his parents of the home; one brother, Velmore, Jr., 12; three sisters, Lora Beth, 13, and twins, Caroline Mae, 11, and Colleen Marie, 11; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Hendrickson, 503 Ash; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Hay, 522 S. Cherry, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Burns, Clear Lake, Iowa; great grandfathers, David Burns, Diamond Springs, Kans., and N. R. Fleming, Rt 2, Pomona; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at Towner's Chapel, the date as yet unannouced, with the Rev. Charles P. Knigh officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Mound Cemetery, Rt. 4, Ottawa.
