A Celebration of Life for Rexie Irene Fout, 79, of Tyler, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Ford officiating. A private family graveside service will take place prior to the memorial service under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fout passed away Nov. 2, 2013, in a Dallas hospital with her family at her side, and was born May 13, 1934, in Elizabeth, Ark. Irene was the owner and operator of Irene Quilts and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. Her smile was contagious and she was strong in her faith. Irene enjoyed helping others and always put them first. She enjoyed working in her garden and cooking for her family and friends. Irene loved sewing and making quilts for her family and taught many people to sew, so her sewing legacy will live on through others. She inspired her family with her faith, grace and beauty. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Fout; father, Rector I. Kerley; and brothers, Winston Kerley and Noel Reasons.
She is survived by her loving family: sons, Gary and wife Alejandra Fout, of Cypress, and Michael R. and wife Carrie Fout of Brownsboro; daughters, Linda and husband Jimmie Nelson, of Tyler, and Rebecca Fout Parker, of Thomasville, Ga.; her mother who is 97 years old, Agnes Reasons, of Independence, Mo; a sister, Wilma Villines; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to Dr. Michael Ashigbi and the cancer team for their dedication and support. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 13108 State Highway 64 E., Tyler, 75707; or The Leukemia Society, 81111 LBJ Freeway, Suite 425, Dallas, 75251.
