Mrs. Fout passed away Nov. 2, 2013, in a Dallas hospital with her family at her side, and was born May 13, 1934, in Elizabeth, Ark. Irene was the owner and operator of Irene Quilts and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. Her smile was contagious and she was strong in her faith. Irene enjoyed helping others and always put them first. She enjoyed working in her garden and cooking for her family and friends. Irene loved sewing and making quilts for her family and taught many people to sew, so her sewing legacy will live on through others. She inspired her family with her faith, grace and beauty. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Fout; father, Rector I. Kerley; and brothers, Winston Kerley and Noel Reasons.
She is survived by her loving family: sons, Gary and wife Alejandra Fout, of Cypress, and Michael R. and wife Carrie Fout of Brownsboro; daughters, Linda and husband Jimmie Nelson, of Tyler, and Rebecca Fout Parker, of Thomasville, Ga.; her mother who is 97 years old, Agnes Reasons, of Independence, Mo; a sister, Wilma Villines; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
