Harvey was the son of Richard Minter Johnson Asher and Susannah (Bauman) Asher. He grew up in Owen County, Indiana. He married Edna May Rubeck on Jan. 19, 1910. Edna and Harvey were both killed four miles south of Crawfordsville, IN. when the auto they were driving collided with an Army Truck on Highway 43, they were coming home from Crawfordsville.Harvey & wife (Edna) were killed in a car / Army truck accident as they were going home from Crawfordsville on State Road 43 south. They lived just south of Fincastle in Putnam Co., IN. Services for Mr & Mrs. Harvey Asher was at the German Church, Poland, IN with Rev. Walter Sherry & Rev. Malcolm A. Harris officiating. Final Resting place is Mt. Zion German Cemetery.
