COOKSEY, James E., Born Dec. 1, 1927, in Springfield, Missouri. Passed away April 28, 2006, in Lancaster, Calif. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Elizabeth "Toni" Cooksey, daughters, Cynthia Stockman, Julie Jacobs, Kathleen Johnston, Teresa McDermott, Jeanette Lawrence, sons, Donald, James M., David, and Martin Cooksey, 5 sisters, 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Cooksey was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Lancaster Council, VFW Palmdale. He proudly served his country is the U.S. Air Force during World War II and Korea. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m., on Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2006, at St. Andrew's Abbey with Abbot Frances Benedict officiating. Interment will be held at the Abbey Cemetery. Email condolences to the family at [email protected] Donation may be made in Mr. Cooksey's name to Hogar Infantil "La Gloria", c/o Augustinian Provincialate, 1605 28th St., San Diego, CA 92102-1417.
