A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Clemence Guidry Cheramie, 91, a native of Galliano and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 3:10 p.m. Feb. 14, 1997.
Visitation will be 3 to 10 p.m. today and 7 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was the mother of Joseph and William Cheramie, Mary Lou Danos, Norma Chiasson and Vivian DeFelice; sister of Tessia Doucet. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Parice Cheramie; parents, Belonie and Camillia Bourg Guidry; a son, Calvin Cheramie; a daughter, Lorina Lafont; three brothers, Avey, Theodule and Pierre Guidry, seven sisters, Irma Callias, Palmire Vizier, Emelie Martin, Alice Adams, Camilla Rousse, Mary Vizier and Rita Guidry; and a great-grandchild, Stevie Dufrene.
Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of arrangements.
