Ola Eunice McElroy was the daughter of farmer George W. McElroy and Sarah A. Barnes McElroy, who were married in Morgan County, Alabama but by 1910 had 5 children in Jefferson County, Alabama. They farmed in Laurel, Jones County, Mississippi a while before returning to Hokes Bluff, Etowah County, Alabama 1930. Ola Eunice was a twin to her brother Otis Leon McElroy. She married Lynwood Vincent Lyle April 17, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama where they lived until their deaths, and raised six children, two deceased: Lynwood V. Lyle Jr. (1931 - 1960), Rose Marie Lyle (1937 - 1946).
