In Belle Smiley and Iola Young's book The Sweet Saga (pg. 211, new edition) is the following: "Tryphosa Sweet Dodge and Oliver Dodge moved to Upper Newport in 1818, a few years after their marriage. That year they built a new house on the farm purchased from John Parker, Upper Newport . This old homestead remains today (1963) and is the home of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Thrope. On this farm down by the brook and over the hill from the buildings is the Dodge burying ground. Several stones mark the last resting place of many of the family, although some of the Dodge descendants of the second generation are buried in the old Presbyterian Cemetery (now United) near Brooklyn Station.
