Al served in the US Navy for ten years. Some of his military career was spent attached to VAW-124 and VAW-126 and served aboard the USS America (CV-66), and the USS John F Kennedy (CV-67). He retired from civil service in June 2012 after 37 years. He spent the last two years of his life valiantly fighting throat cancer. He lost that fight in his home, holding his daughter's hand.
Woodstock loved life and lived it with gusto. He enjoyed fast motorcycles and sailing his Hobie Cat on Chesapeake Bay in his life as a young man. He loved his friends and was always willing to offer help to a friend in need.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin F. Malone, his mother, Jean D. Quick, and his step-father, Charles C. Quick, Sr. He is survived by his first wife Jeanie Malone, mother of their daughter, April J. Malone of Wilmington, N.C.who also survives him, his sister, Barbara A. Scott; and his brothers Charles C. Quick Jr. and Anthony S. Quick, all of Baltimore, Md and Devona to whom he was married for 11 months.
Woodstock was loved by many, and may not be with us but will never be forgotten.
