Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Mamie Joyce Jackson Hill, age 63, of Jefferson, GA, who passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013. Mrs. Hill was born in Commerce, GA, a daughter to the late Bert T. Jackson and the late Nina Mae Strickland Jackson. Mrs. Hill was a member of the Sardis Presbyterian Church in Jefferson and was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections where she worked in Food Service. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Hill Sr., brother, James Thomas Jackson, sister, Dorothy Louise Bonds
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 2:00pm in the Sardis Presbyterian Church, 652 Gordon Street, Jefferson, Ga. 30549, with Rev. Harold Harris officiating. The burial will follow in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday, from 12-2pm at the Church, prior to the service.
