Informant, Mrs. S.E. Black lists his father as Minitary Black and mother as Sallie Cartright. He was buried at the "City Cemetery" (Death Certificate #28727) Samuel is with his parents in 1880. He married Bettie E. Taylor on 14 May 1890 in Hamblen County. The 1900 Morristown, Hamblen County census, page 7A lists Samuel E. Black 39, Bettie E. 25 (married 10 years) and Albert D. 2 The 1910 Morristown, Hamblen County census, family #275, page 14 lists Samuel E. Black 49, Bettie E. 35, Albert D. 11, Annie M. 5, and Sarah A. Black 60 (sister) Samuel and Bettie are still together in the 1920 Hamblen County census.
