Wilburn Cartwright
Birth: Jan. 12, 1892
Death: Mar. 14, 1979

US Congressman. Elected to represent Oklahoma's 3rd District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1927 to 1943. Also served as a Member of the Oklahoma State House of representatives from 1915 to 1919, Member of the Oklahoma State Senate from 1919 to 1923, Secretary of the State of Oklahoma from 1947 to 1951, and Oklahoma State Auditor from 1951 to 1955. A native of Georgetown, Tennessee, he also served as a Major in the United States Army during the Second World War. (bio by: K)
