El Toro: Woman Who Died in Condo Fire Identified:
The second victim of a condominium fire last weekend was identified Thursday as Denise Farrow, 29, of Santa Ana, officials said.
Orange County investigators used dental records to identify the woman, who died early Saturday in the blaze along with Edward F. Petrus, 38, of Buena Park. Petrus, a Los Angeles deputy city attorney, was identified through dental records earlier in the week.
Petrus and Farrow, both house guests, were trapped in an upstairs bedroom when the fire broke out in the kitchen on the first floor, fire officials said. The blaze began in a trash can, an Orange County Fire Department spokesman said.
The owners of the condominium, Rosemary and Marshall Rich, escaped by jumping from the window of another bedroom on the second floor. Rosemary Rich suffered second- and third-degree burns over 60% of her body and a fractured right knee.
Marshall Rich, who was sleeping on a couch on the first floor when the fire broke out at about 2:30 a.m., alerted his wife, authorities said. He was not injured.
