MONTICELLO - George
Duffey, president of the State
Bank of Burnettsville since
1956, died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday
at Memorial Hospital,
Logansport.
The 81-year-old bank
president had been a patient in
the hospital three days and had
been in ill health a year.
Born Feb. 28, 1895, in Burnettsville,
he was the son of
John C, and Martha Chilcott
Duffey. He was married Feb.
20, 1914, to Mary Watts, who
died Nov. 1, 1970.
He had been with the bank 61
years. He was a 50-year
member of the Indiana
Bankers' Association.
A resident of Burnettsville all
his life, Duffey was a member
of Burnettsville Masonic Lodge
663. He was a former member
of the White County Council.
Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. Janet Carpenter,
Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons,
George Jr., Miami, Fla., and
James, Burnettsville one
brother, William, Orange City,
Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor
Bresnahan and Miss Ruth
Duffey, both of Burnettsville;
six grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Three brothers preceded him
in death.
Funeral services will be at 11
a.m. Saturday at the Miller-
Voorhis Funeral Home, the
Rev. Raymond Skelton officiating.
Burial will be in the
Davis Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9
p.m.. Friday.
