MRS. ULFERTS, ANAMOSA, DIES SEPT. 9
Mrs. Henry F. Ulferts, 85, died at the Anamosa Community hospital Saturday, Sept. 9, 1972, after an illness of several weeks. She was born July 25, 1887 at Neuende, Germany, the daughter of Lubbe and Meta Eilers Ortgies.
She was married to Henry F. Ulferts Jan. 25, 1906. They farmed in Castle Grove and Cass township before moving to Anamosa to make their home in 1946. Mr. Ulferts preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1966.
She is survived by two sons, Emil, Monticello, and Carl of Anamosa. Also surviving are six grand children and twenty-three great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Herman Schafer, Anamosa. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, her parents, a grandchild, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran church Monday, Sept. 11, 1972, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Harvey O, Gilbertson officiated. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery at Monticello.
Casket bearers were Budd Cook, Ede Renken, Leonard Johnson, Merle Atwood, Allen Siebels, and Johnnie Pegorick.
