He was born October 30, 1938 in the High community (Lamar County) to James Leon and Utha Nell Turley Boss. He married Linda Fay Vickers February 28, 1964 in Lamar County.
Jimmy owned and operated Boss Plumbing prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Boss was survived by his wife, two daughters and one son-in-law, two sons and one daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, one sister, and his stepmother.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 12, 2013 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Major John Tolan officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Chance Ward, Ricky Grubbs, Scott Modl, Norman Lott, Bynard Malone, and Jerry McFadden.
