Sidney Graves Koon (29 Jan 1875-Sept. 27, 1950), author, amateur historian and genealogist with a degree in engineering from Sibley College, Cornell University.
Son of Charles Byron and Lavanchie E. (Patten) Koon. He married Madeline Vatet (2 Aug 1885-17 Jan 1915) who died in Boston at age 29. They were living in Pittsburgh in 1910.
One database incorrectly gives the author's birth as 1882.

The last book, FULL BLOODED YANKEE, was composed of seven chapters each devoted to one of seven ancestral families. His daughter Cecile Vatet Koon (Mrs. J. Richard Powell) stated in a letter 10-13-1976 to Clyde V. Angevine: "My father did most of his (research) work at the New York Public Library Genealogy and Local History Room and at the New York Genealogical Society after he retired as statistical editor of the Iron Age, the weekly iron and steel magazine.... my father's last research was never finished. He'd been working on the Haviland family and I have a letter dated Feb. 11, 1950 to my son saying there were traces back to 1061 in fragmentary form - in full to 1420 on the Island of Gurnsey. The 'Havilands in America' sheets are typed but never put in the binder or on the title page of the book."

Lavanchie Patten Koon's mother Elizabeth Angevine Cornell was the daughter of Caleb Cornell, son of (Revolutionary War soldier) Richard Cornell and Elizabeth Angevine of Westchester County, N.Y. Elizabeth Angevine was the daughter of Eli Angevine and Charity Bonet; granddaughter of Pierre Angevine Jr. Richard Cornell's second wife was Nancy Purdy, whose family was related to the Angevines through several marriages.

Mr. Koon showed his ancestor Eli Angevine as the son of Pierre Angevine Jr. (b.c1697) (son of Pierre and 1st wife Deborah Guion) and married to Margaret Secord, sister of Esther who married his brother Lewis Angevine. MacKenzie listed Pierre Sr. as having two sons Pierre Jr. (half-brothers) by his two wives. Clyde Angevine's Angevine Genealogy (1977) lists Eli as the son of Pierre/Peter Angevine Jr. and second wife Marguerite DeBonrepos and said he was not sure Pierre Sr. and first wife Deborah's son lived long, "if he even existed."
