JOHN DePENCIER BALLANTYNE, 97, passed away Thursday,
October 3, in St. George, Utah. he was born November
16, 1915,in Rudyard, Montana, to EDSON and MABEL
TAYLOR BALLANTYNE. His Parents Later moved to BOZEMAN MT,
where JOHN grew up. He left the farm after high school and went on the road selling FULLER BRUSHES in 1936.
It was at that time he met and married VIRGINIA RICH
in Paris, IDAHO. They were later SEALED in the LOGAN TEMPLE.
JOHN's occupations over theyears included RANCHING, RAILROADING and sales of all kings while living in several of the western states. In 1974 JOHN and VIRGINIA moved to ALASKA where he did maintenance work for several years before moving to SEATTLE and later to Reno. In 1990 they retired and made their home in Paris, IDAHO. After VIRGINIA's DEATH in 1998, JOHN spent winters with his daughter JANET in Henderson, NEVADA,before moving permanetly to St.GEORGE in 2001 to live near his daughter JEAN. For the past several years he required nursing care and the FAMILY wishes to THANK the AWESOME STA at KOLOB CARE & REHAB and ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOSPICE
for the COMPASSIONATE CARE he received.
JOHN's posterity includes his two DAUGHTERS, JEAN (BRYCE)
LAMB of St. GEORGE, and JANET (HOWARD) NIELSEN,of HENDERSON, NEVADA, 13 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and
4 great-great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL services will be Wednesday, October 9, at, 4:00p.m. at the FOREMASTER RIDGE LDS chapel,St. GEORGE.
The FAMILY will greet friends and loved ones one hour prior to services. BURIAL will be in the PARIS, IDAHO cemetery at a later date. HEIDEMAN HUGHES MORTUARY
