Willie "Sid" Wilson
Willie "Sid" Wilson was born on May 15, 1923 in Velma, Oklahoma to Odes and Sarah Ellen (McCartney) Wilson. Sid served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. After Sid's honorably discharge from the Navy he worked and owned companies in the oilfield. He retired in 1994. Sid was the father of one son, Joseph Anthony.
He was united in marriage to Mary Reeves on September 24, 1984 in Goliad, Texas. They made their home in Woodward and have lived here since that time. Mary preceded him in death on December 18, 2004.
Sid and Mary both enjoyed their many travels west of the Mississippi, southern Texas, the northwestern United States and Canada.
Sid was the grandfather of Joseph Sidney and wife Emma of Woodward, Ken Thomas and wife Melyssa of Woodward and Steven Thomas and wife Linda of Ponca City.
He was the great-grandfather of Kaitlyn, Ashley, Jeremy, Lucas, Taylee, Tyrzah, Teya, and Ty.
He was the great-great-grandfather of Brady, Ryan and Emily.
Sid was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara, and his son Joseph Anthony.
Sid loved his family and gardening. He never met a stranger.
