THE DEATH OF DAVID MARTIN
David Martin died at 9:30 o’clock Saturday night at his home in Stockwell. He died after an illness of four days from pneumonia. He was born near South Raub on January 26, 1837, and his entire life was spent in this county. He engaged in farming for a number of years and accumulated a handsome estate, after which he retired and became a resident of Stockwell. He is survived by three daughters. Mr. Martin was a member of the Masonic fraternity and was an influential and highly respected citizen. His integrity was never questioned and he enjoyed the confidence and respect of all who knew him. The funeral will be conducted from the Methodist church in Stockwell tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. F. J. Beisel will officiate and the interment will be made in the Concord cemetery. (The Lafayette Daily Courier, Monday, March 7, 1910.)
