Harold Eugene Rehm was born to Eugene Joseph Rehm and Anna Braun, November 11, 1926 in Minnesota. Harold passed away September 22, 2013 at Palmdale Regional Hospital, Palmdale, California with his family at his side.
In 1944 his parents, Harold and two brothers moved to California. They owned the O.K. Grocery in Hawthorne, for many years. Harold was preceded in death by his eight siblings and son Michael.
He is survived by wife Pauline (Polly), son Dan Rehm (Kim) of San Diego, Barrey Rehm of Temecula, daughters,, Janet Aruda (Terry) of Palmdale, and Diane Jones (Roger) of Quartz Hill. Eleven Grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Sister Gerry Boll of Idaho who just celebrated her 90th birthday.
Harold worker in his parents grocery store until he joined the Army in 1945. He was honorably dischared in 1947 and went back to work in his parents's grocery where he met a frequent customer and his future bride, Polly Thompson. They married in 1948 on January 29 at St Joseph's Church in Hawthorne. He worked at North American and Standard Oil until he joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department in 1952. The family lived in Hawthorne in Badger Park where they had a community association. He was baseball coach for several years for the kids and sometimes an umpire.
He moved his family to Lancaster in 1964. After servral years commuting to stations down below. He got transfered to Station117 until his retirement after 31 years as an engineer. They enjoyed several trips back East in their motorhome and belonged to Lancaster Roadrunner Motorhome Club for many years. He was president of the club several times. He was also a charter member of the Knights of Columbus at Father Serra Parish. He was an usher and helped at the festival the church held. He was a member of local, Florence and Ray B. Edwards, Charter 819, City of Hope.
