Mary Lou Cornwell, 100, of Marble died Thursday, September 26, 2013 in Murphy Medical Center. She was a native of Polk County, TN, but had lived in Cherokee County most of her life. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Marble Springs Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lucy Smith Chastain and the wife of the late A.G. "Doc" Cornwell, who died May 28, 1967. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jackie McMillian and Billy Cornwell.
Surviving are a daughter, Susie Cornwell of Marble; a son, Bobby Cornwell of Marble; and 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Matthew Mull officiating.
