Dr. Thomas Francis Lee, Jr. D.D.S. 67, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, in San Augustine, Texas, following a lengthy illness.

Tommy was born on January 3, 1946 in Port Arthur, Texas to Thomas F. Lee, Sr. and Ola Mae (Powell) Lee. He was the grandson of Thomas Aiken Lee and Emma Jane (Thompson) Lee of Miami, Florida and Henry Jackson "Brink" Powell and Nellie Leona (Bell) Powell of Brookeland, Texas.

As a child, Tommy lived in Port Arthur, Texas; Galena Park, Texas; Houston, Texas; Brookeland, Texas; and Vidor, Texas, where he graduated from high school in 1964.

Tommy went on to attend Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and graduated from The University of Texas in Austin, Texas with a degree in Pharmacy in 1971. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Tommy married his high school sweetheart, Lillian (Keasler) Lee in 1967, and they have three beautiful children. He worked as a pharmacist for several years in Houston, Texas. He later graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1976. After graduating from dental school he moved his family to San Augustine, Texas, where he practiced dentistry for many years. In 1996, Dr. Lee was certified to do surgical implant dentistry by the Misch International Institute. He married Gail Tate in 1992 and had one step daughter,Brandi Kilcrease Havard. Tommy cherished his childhood days of visiting his grandparents in Brookeland, Texas. He was an avid outdoors man, loving to fish on Lake Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend, and hunting deer in East Texas. Tommy enjoyed scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and being on the water. He was a runner and always placed well in track meets as a high school student. Tommy made his Christian profession of faith and was baptized as a ten-year- old boy in Houston, Texas and was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidor, Texas and later First United Methodist Church of San Augustine, Texas. Tommy is a former president of the San Augustine Rotary Club and a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Tommy was a zealous reader and a life-long learner. He enjoyed his time as a dentist and took pride in serving his patients. He was known for his brilliant mind, his unmatched sense of humor, and his ability to easily make friends. Tommy was proud of his children and his grandchildren.

Thomas is preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa K. Lee of Beaumont, Texas; his son, Thomas F. Lee III "Trae" of Austin, Texas; his daughter, Summer M. Lee Norman of Nacogdoches, Texas; his son-in-law, Tim N. Norman of Nacogdoches, Texas; his three granddaughters: Caroline Grace Norman, Madeline Joy Norman, and Alexandra Love Norman; his sister, Patricia (Lee) McGlothin of Beaumont, Texas; his brother-in-law, Donnie McGlothin of Beaumont, Texas; his nephew, Chad McGlothin of Beaumont, Texas, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins,

Visitation will be held at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine, Texas on Thursday, September 26, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., and funeral services will be held on Friday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Rick Russel officiating. Thomas will be laid to rest at Weeks Chapel Cemetery in Brookeland, Texas.
