RALPH T. OLIS, Demotte, Indiana, Age 77, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2006 at his home after a long illness. Mr. Olis was born on October 21, 1928 to Frank J. and Theresa (Shepp) Olis. He was married on September 9, 1950 to Olga E. Rakos. Mr. Olis served his country both in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired as a supervisor from U.S. Steel in 1983. Ralph was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Demotte.

Mr. Olis was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Hubert, Edward and Bernard Olis. Survived by wife, Olga; 2 sons, Frank (Shirley) Olis of Valparaiso, IN, Steven (Tammy) Olis of Porter, IN; 1 daughter, Kathleen (Matthew) Skrief of Indianapolis, IN; 7 grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Olis, Justin King, Kory Erb, Morgan Klinkose, Jordan and Logan Skrief; 1 sister, Betty Brier; 2 brothers, Frank (Thelma) Olis, Adam Olis; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services Thursday, January 26, 2006, 11 a.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merillville, Rev. Paul R. Wicklum officiating. Burial will be in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 25, 3-8 p.m. Rosary service Wednesday afternoon, 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be given to Jasper County Healthcare and Hospice, 1104 East Grace Street, Rensselaer, Indiana 47978.
