John Smith, first b. child of Eleazer Smith and Ruth Sprague, b. of record June 23, 1681 at Dartmouth, Mass. (Dartmouth MM Records.) He d. testate 10mo (Oct.), 6, 1766 at Little Britain Twp., Lancaster County, Penn. (formerly part of Marlborough Twp, Chester County, Penn.)

On the 3mo (May), 5, 1706 at Chester County, Penn., John m. Ann Pusey, dau. of Caleb Pusey and Ann Stone (dau. of Henry Stone, widow of Henry Worley), b. 1mo, 12, 1684 [Mar 12, 1684/5] at Chester County. By this marriage was b. one known child:

• i. Lydia Smith, b. 1mo, 3, 1719/20 [Mar 3, 1719/20] at Marlborough Twp, Chester County, Penn. where she d. circa 1770; m. 1) 3mo (May), 17, 1738 Thomas Jackson, Jr., s. Thomas Jackson and Ann Man, b. 6mo. (Aug.), 10, 1710 at Ireland. He d. intestate circa 1745-46. Three children of the marriage. Lydia m. 2) as his 1st wife, Isaac Allen, by whom she had seven children.

Ruth m. 2) Sept. 29, 1756 at Kennet MM, Chester County as his 1st wife, John Gregg, s. Thomas Gregg and Dinah Harlan (Michael,2 James,1), b. 4mo (June), 16, 1733 at Chester County. He d. testate betw. Oct. 19, 1818 and June 12, 1820 at Loudoun, VA. Two known children of the marriage.
