Billie "Bea" (Hutson) Beagle

Woodward, Okla. — Funeral services for Billie (Bea) Beagle, 81-year-old resident of Canyon, Texas will be Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m. in the Garden Chapel of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service in Woodward. The Rev. Damon Deaton will officiate. Interment will be in the Zelma Cemetery southwest of Gate, Okla.

Billie Beagle was born July 31, 1927 in Forgan, Okla. to Thomas and LaVaughn (Beardsley) Hutson. She attended school at Arnett, Okla. On April 22, 1944 she was married to Joe C. Beagle at Cheyenne, Okla. They resided in Trinidad, Colo, Borger, Texas and Cactus, Texas before making their home in Canyon. Bea graduated from West Texas State University in 1974 with a degree in art and special education. She was a teacher in the Canyon Independent School District for 19 years where she was loved by her students.

Mrs. Beagle was a long-time member of the Faith Community Chapel in Canyon. She lived by her Christian beliefs and instilled them in those around her. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother – her focus was on supporting and promoting healthy family relationships. She was present and assisted in the first weeks of life for many newborns in her family. As a gifted seamstress she made dresses, clothes and beautiful quilts for many friends and family.

Mrs. Beagle died March 3, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Eric Lewis Beagle, her younger brother, Clayton Hutson and her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joe C. Beagle; a son, Martin Beagle of Salt Lake City; a daughter and her husband, JoAnna and Warren Gisch of Canyon; a daughter-in-law, Sarah Beagle of Albuquerque, N. M.; a sister and her husband Jane and Gary Molloy of Gage, Okla.; three brothers and their wives, Malcolm and Doris Hutson of Wenatachee, Wash., Raymond and (little) Bea Hutson of Sheridan, Wyo., and Thomas and Stephanie Hutson of Woodward, Okla.; four grandchildren, Skyla Beagle of Tempe, Ariz., Patrick Beagle of Albuquerque, N. M., David Gisch of Canyon, Texas and Kate Beagle of Grand Junction, Colo. She was loved by her nieces and nephews.
