Obituary: "Thelma M. Isenbarger, 91, formerly of 107 Penn Rd, Troy, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, in Sidney at Dorothy Love Retirement Home. Mrs. Isenbarger was born Thelma Marcelite Kelsey on April 18, 1912. Her parents were George and Ivaloo (Reed) Kelsey. She was the second of six children. She graduated from Raymond High School and was married in 1932 to Lowell Isenbarger who died in 1986. Mrs. Isenbarger spent more than 60 years of her life in Troy where she was active as a homemaker and a community volunteer. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for 55 years. In addition, she was an active member of the Afternoon Garden Club and the First United Church of Christ. She also volunteered at the Hayner Cultural Center in Troy. Mrs. Isenbarger loved golfing, gardening, playing bridge, knitting, sewing and entertaining her many friends and her family. She is remembered by friends and family for her cheerful disposition, her unflagging energy and her generous spirit. Thelma Isenbarger is survived by her daughter, Judy, and spouse, Homer Pence, of Muncie, Indiana, and her son, Terry, and his spouse, Beverly, of Bellaire, Michigan. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Terry Pence and his spouse, Rebecca, of Daleville, Ind., Kristin Magrath and her spouse, William, of Hartford City, Indiana, Eric Isenbarger of Traverse City, Michigan, and Jill Isenbarger and her spouse, Keith O'Connor, of Washington DC; two great-granddaughters, Kelsey and Alex Pence; two brothers and their spouses, Gerald and Ruby Kelsey of Tavarse, Florida, and Harold and Dorothy Kelsey of Bellefontaine; and a sister, Reita Vanhyning of Lima. Mrs. Isenbarger is preceded in death by her brother, Carroll Kelsey, and her sister, Erma Jolliff. There will be a funeral service at 2pm Saturday, February 7, at the Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Carol Bastin officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 1 to 2pm. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
