William Golden, lifelong resident of Ogdensburg, died at his home, 931 State street, Thursday evening at 11:30. Mr. Golden had been in ill health for the past two years.

Mr. Golden was widely known in Ogdensburg and for many years before prohibition was proprietor of a local cafe. For the past ten years he served as Commissioner at the MacNaughton Market, being forced to retire from that office due to ill health.

Mr. Golden was a member of the Ogdensburg Lodge, B. P. O. E. and was a member of St. Mary's Parish.

He leaves surviving four sons, Samuel J. Golden of St. Louis, Mo, W.S. Golden of Detroit, Mich, R. J. Golden of Newark, NJ, Sylvester J. Golden, Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Bassett of Auburn, NY and Mrs. Margaret Kroeger, city; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Willard, city.

Mr. Golden's wife, Mrs. Mary McGarrity Golden, passed away two years ago.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 from the home and at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Cathedral. Interment will be made at St. Mary's cemetery.
