Catherine Bush, aged 86, of St. Marys, died Tuesday, April 23, 1985 in Worthington Manor, Parkersburg. She was born July 13, 1898, in Louisiana, MO, a daughter of the late the Rev. Asa and Kate Richmond Bush. Miss Bush was a graduate of LaGrange High School, Stephens College and the University of Missouri. She received her degree in English from Teachers College, Columbia University, NY, after six years teaching in St. Marys. She taught English and Latin for five years in LaGrange, MO, and at Weston High School for six years before returning to St. Marys High School to teach the remaining of her 49-year teaching career. Miss Bush was a member of the St. Marys First Baptist Church, where she had served as church pianist, choir member, and teacher for a class of high school girls which she taught for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anna. Services were held at 2:30pm Friday at the Ruttencutter Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial in the IOOF Cemetery in St. Marys.
