Jim was born in Denver, Colorado, to the late Arville F. and Jeanne Woods Owen. Jim made a career selling new and used cars in Central and East Texas, spanning over a period of four decades. He enjoyed being outdoors and liked to fish and hunt. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Joseph Owen; and brothers, Gerald and Ollie Owen.
