Mrs. Edna Viar Dies Here Today

Mrs. Edna Louise Viar, 1308 Ewell street, widow of W.O. Viar, died at about 4:30 o'clock this morning, Wednesday, at Parkview Hospital here. She was 71.
Born in Weakley county, Mrs. Viar was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Witherspoon. Her husband preceded her in death in 1962.
Funeral services for Mrs. Viar will be held at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, at Curry's Chapel. The Reverend Thomas E. Pittman will officiate. Pallbearers will be John Smith, Robert Veal, Raymond King, Clinton Kesterson, Will Seratt and Freddie Moss. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery with J.W. Curry and Son in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by five sons, Stoy Viar, Walter Jack Viar and Connie Viar, all of Dyersburg, Leroy Viar, Hardy, Arkansas, and Charles Viar, Flint, Michigan; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Rice, Dyersburg; two step-daughters, Mrs. Alice Seratt, Dyersburg, and Mrs. Myra Boone, Georgia; and 18 grandchildren.
