Tripp, Kenneth F.

90, passed away, joining his beloved wife Esther on Sunday April 17, 2016. Ken was born in Johnson City, NY December 9, 1925, the first child of the late James and Marian Tripp. Ken graduated from Binghamton North High School in January 1944 and served in the Navy for the rest of World War II. Ken was married to Esther D. TeKrony from February 1948 until her passing in 2009. He graduated from Binghamton Hospital School of Nursing in 1952, and worked as a Psychiatric Nurse for Binghamton State Hospital, then Marcy Psychiatric Center from which he retired in 1983. Ken also served as a nurse in the Army Reserve where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1985. Dad will be remembered by all who knew him as a genuine caring, loving, husband, father, and friend. He would normally be found tinkering, building, and repairing anything and everything, skills which will be passed on to those he helped. Anyone who knew Ken know that he loved conversation and though he certainly could talk, he was also as good a listener. Ken was retired for over thirty years and split his years between homes in Zephyrhills, Florida and the north shore of Oneida Lake. He and Esther enjoyed their motor homes and spent time every year with family in the Thousand Islands. He is survived by his three children and their spouses; Donna Tripp Indzeris and husband Bill, Wayne Tripp and wife Susan, and Dale Tripp and wife Audrey. Six grandchildren Mark Indzeris, Laura Indzeris Johnson (husband Tom), Allison Tripp Abbott (husband Andrew), Rachelann Tripp, Joshua Tripp, Garrett Tripp and four great grandchildren Charlotte and Elizabeth Johnson, and Alexander and Alden Abbott. He is also survived by his three siblings Arthur Tripp, Millicent Conklin, and Marjorie Updyke along with many other cousins, nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, at 10:00am, at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St, Johnson City. Burial will be held at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 5-7pm, at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc.
